Then, because it is just another fling, it ends up falling apart, and then they go their separate ways, and find someone else whot hey fall in love with. This song is about a guy who enters relationships thinkign they're the real deal, but in the end, finds a girl who actually is different.
He tries forcing love, and makes a girl out to be more than she really is. It's a warnign to not do that, because it never works out. If you want real love, you have to hold back and let it happen. Be patient, and wait for the right person. Shutyourmouth2 on November 07, Link. No Replies Log in to reply. There was an error. General Comment yeah, im pretty sure he isn't being serious when he talks about this girl. Its full of sarcasm. General Comment I think the part about the ringtone, pancakes, etc are underrated.
Those are all small things that you could totally look over, but underneath Chelsea on January 21, Link. Gym Class Heroes are soo god and they are truly one of the most unique groups out there. I think this song is about a new girlfriend and that sometimes things are rough but in the end its the litlle things that count and it makes everything work out.
My Interpretation This song is so cute. I think the chorus is very telling about this guy's previous relationships. The first things that come to his mind when he describes his girlfriend is that he's being monogamous for once and that they don't have a lot of sex. But he's fallen so completely in love with this girl, and every little moment in their relationship makes him love her more, that she makes him not even care about all that.
General Comment I think he's addicted to his girlfriend and nothing is ever awkward with her, and he'd do anything for her and she's everyhting he has, but I don't understand the part where it says, "i never seem to get a lot".
That throws me off. I couldn't stomach the possible thought of breaking down a song by One Direction or God forbid Hunter Hayes, so I'm gonna make the smart contemporary play and break down a song from our early middle school days. This is explicitly stated in his repeated use of the following lines: "She's the only one I got ba ba da da Not much of a girlfriend I never seem to get a lot ba ba da da, ba ba da da " This would be perfectly fine if it was a song in which he was simply bagging on how bland and unappealing his girlfriend was the use of fine here leaves room for interpretation.
Instead, the song goes on to glorify the girl and how perfect she is. Let's examine the third stanza after the opening chorus: " I mean she even cooks me pancakes And Alka Seltzer when my tummy aches If that ain't love then I don't know what love is" He seems so pleased about how caring and thoughtful she is, yet in every single chorus, he essentially brings her back down to the average level with the phrase "Not much of a girlfriend". Perhaps this leads into our discussion of the title, which is derived from the following line: " And I know it sounds so old But cupid got me in a chokehold chokehold ".
This indicates a feeling of helplessness inside of the narrator. I think he's looking in all the wrong places. It's about how he found the perfect relationship no thanks to cupid continually throwing him love buzzes throughout all the bad ones. He explains how she makes him feel and how he differs from all the other girls he's dated. I think it's very sweet As omggitspyrogirl stated he's allowing cupid to run how he finds his girl friend and they are usually the wrong one and also its says that it went fine for a while then she started to not like him anymore.
The song is pretty obvious. This guy keeps falling in love with the wrong woman. In the first verse he tells his mother that he has fallen in love again. The rest of the song repeats the same pattern. The title of the song makes some sense. I totally agree with it. OK what I think is that he's talking about how much he loves his girl and all that crap during the verse, then he breaks up with her during the chorus.
So each verse is a different girl and each chorus is where he's breaking up with her. I had the same question. Maybe the song is saying that love overcomes the average nature of a guy Who knows. Well, I don't really have an interpretation, more like a question. When you watch the video, the lyrics mildly make sense.
But the song itself confuses me. Every verse is talking about how wonderful she is, but the chorus makes it sound like he doesn't want to be with her
