I hate having to create a new email account each time I want to sign into a taleo. I had to stop applying at jobs that use Taleo. For all intents and purposes John Smith may have negative credit, and be a litigious frequent murderer with AIDS and a bad credit rating who is a pathological liar, and there is nothing the REAL John Smith can do about it.
Taleo and Kenexa will not allow non-HR personnel to view their products, and all three require a binding non-disclosure agreement to not share information about their products.
Quite frankly all three contribute greatly to unemployment, especially in technology-related positions which tend to have higher career turnover. Some day there will be a class action lawsuit and these guys will be knocked down to size.
Organizations need to treat future employees as they do with their customers. Would they put up a Taleo-kind of interface when customers try to engage with them?!!! Taleo is a nightmare from the applicants perspective. If I see a company is using Taleo, I will generally move on.
